POLICIES & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Garden City Medical Clinic is not a walk in clinic.

Mask wearing is not mandatory now per Public Health guidelines updated April 2023. However, mask wearing is still encouraged if you have a health condition to protect yourself and others.

Online Booking

Both IN PERSON and TELEPHONE appointments are available by booking online. Please be mindful of which appointment type is selected. By booking online, you are consenting to email communications.  These 10-minute appointments time slots are for both new issues and follow up.  Please be aware that it typically requires at least 10 minutes to adequately address a SINGLE medical issue, and if time permits, sometimes a brief second issue.  If you have additional issues or questions for the doctor, please make another appointment on a subsequent day.

1. When booking TELEPHONE appointments, please provide the best number to reach you.

2. Tele-visit is a phone call appointment. Please do NOT block unknown numbers on the day of appointment as most of our doctors call from unknown numbers.

3. We make every effort to be on time, but please anticipate a possible +/-2 hours window from scheduled time for the call. Please note the doctor will call you up to 3 times of the day of booking. Appointments can be cancelled online up to 6 hours prior to appointment time. No show fee is $50 for televisit, $75 for in person.

4. Please have a list of your medication and preferred pharmacy information ready for new medication refill requests.

5. For in person Driver's Medical exam, please email gardencitymed@gmail.com ahead to schedule.

6. If you do not have a valid MSP number, please call or email us to schedule an appointment with one of our doctors.

Please book separate appointments for each person if coming to the office as a family.

If you require a same-day appointment for an URGENT issue, and if no time slots are available online, please call the office and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Cancellations and Appointment No Shows (Telephone or in person appointment)

6 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Appointments booked via our online booking service can be canceled or rescheduled up to 6 hours in advance.

Appointments booked online can ONLY be canceled or rescheduled online.

If you fail to cancel in time and do not show up to your scheduled appointment, this will result in a missed appointment charge of $50 for telephone appointment or $75 for in person appointment.

Immunization

We do not offer immunizations for adults or babies. We do not supply Covid-19 vaccines either.

Notes/Forms/Letters

Please be aware that all notes/forms/letters that require doctors to fill out have a fee. Every form may have different fee and and can vary by complexity and urgency.  Please be sure to call ahead and inquire about this.  Non-refundable pre-payment is required for the above; turn around time varies depends on the complexity and urgency as well; usual turn around time 2-3 weeks is expected.

Investigation Results

It may take up to 10 days for our office to receive results back from various labs or hospitals. Please make an appointment with a physician at our clinic after undergoing an investigation in order to discuss your results.  We will do our best to contact you to book an appointment if your investigation results are abnormal.  From time to time we will also contact you to discuss relevant normal results.  If we are unable to reach you by telephone, we will email you.

At times we may need to leave messages on your voicemail or email (such as the time and place of a specialist referral or the message that lab tests are normal).  Please only provide us with phone number(s) or emails where we may leave such messages.

Specialist Referrals and Hospital Investigations

We will do our best to organize specialist referrals and hospital investigations in a timely manner. However, wait times are often long. Should you not hear back regarding specialist referrals or hospital investigations within one month (or earlier for urgent matters), please inquire at our clinic about the status of your referral.

Oxycodone and Methadone Prescriptions

Our clinic does not prescribe oxycodone nor methadone.

Transferring Records to our Clinic

When transferring records to our clinic, always provide us with electronic photocopies and not the original documents. The originals should remain in your or your former doctor's possession.

Please note: rude and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated at this clinic. Please be respectful to the front staff as well as all physicians whether you are speaking to them in person or over the phone. Patients who do not comply with these rules will be asked to leave and this will result in dismissal from the clinic.
